Neighborhood

To me, Aspen/Snowmass is an unparalleled destination where limitless outdoor recreation meets magnificent luxury to create an experience unlike any other. One minute you can enjoy world-class skiing, hiking or mountain biking. The next, you can slide, step or pedal to five star restaurants, bustling nightlife, craft breweries, designer shopping, art galleries, live music, legal cannabis and so much more. For outdoor activity in the summer, my favorite local hikes are Crater Lake/Maroon Bells (Easy), Cathedral Lake (Medium), Buckskin Pass (Hard) and the Four Pass Loop/Maroon-Snowmass Wilderness Loop (Grand-Daddy 27 Miler). You can find all these trails on Alltrails.com or the AllTrails App. My favorite mountain bike trails in Snowmass are Deadline, Rim Trail and Valhalla. In Aspen, my favorites are Sunnyside and Hummingbird. In Carbondale/Basalt my favorite is Father of Ginormous. In the winter, you can come for four days and ski a different resort every day. Here’s the lowdown on the ski resorts: Snowmass — biggest resort with the most terrain. Lots of beginner/intermediate slopes but also plenty of advanced/expert terrain. Buttermilk — great for families with lots of beginner terrain. Also great for park-rats. This is where they hold the X-Games every year. Aspen Mountain/“Ajax” — great for advanced/expert skiers with lots of steep terrain. Not great for beginner/intermediate skiers. Great for the “Aspen” experience where you can ski right into town and experience the Après scene. Aspen Highlands — world class terrain with the famous “Highland Bowl” and “Deep Temerity” chair which offer an incredible slackcountry experience for advanced/expert skiers. My favorite stores/restaurants/places in Aspen are Local Coffee House for breakfast, Big Wrap for an inexpensive lunch, Pyramid Bistro for a healthy dinner, Belly Up for intimate live music, Aspen Billiards for a game of pool or shuffle-board and finally Peter Lik’s incredible photo gallery. In Snowmass, I like Fuel Cafe for light fare and Il Poggio for fantastic upscale Italian food. If you’re downvalley in Basalt and want some incredible food, I recommend checking out Tempranillo.

You'll have private access to your entire guest suite as well as shared access to the entire yard.

If you fly in, visit without a car, or simply prefer public transportation, our transit system is absolutely amazing for a town this size. If you are traveling within Snowmass Village, the best option is a free transit service called Village Shuttle which makes regular rounds between the ski resort, village/shopping areas and the many condos and hotels. Otherwise, to get anywhere in the Roaring Fork Valley (which includes Aspen, Snowmass, Basalt, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs) I recommend using RFTA (Roaring Fork Transit Authority) buses. They are fast, efficient and there are stops and routes all over the area to help you get to where you need to go. If you are only traveling around the Aspen/Snowmass area these buses are 100% FREE. To quickly get instructions on how to go from “Point A" to “Point B" I would highly recommend using Google Maps. This will take all the fuss and guesswork out of finding your way around, as there are quite a plethora of routes and options. Simply plug in your destination, select "transit" (the little train icon,) and Google Maps will do the rest, conveniently showing you all the appropriate schedules, routes, where, and how far, to walk to catch them. You can even set reminders to leave if you need to arrive somewhere by a certain time. Google Maps works for both RFTA buses and the Snowmass Village Shuttle.

Grant's place is a great location in Aspen, very easy in and out to town, the highway and the ski areas. He was very responsive to a few questions I had and use of the laundry was appreciated as my stay was over 10 nights. This is a very nice, ground floor, private suite with full kitchen. The bath has been updated and it's located in a private community with a flowing creek behind the house. Wonderful setting and responsive host.

We had a great stay. The host was very nice, extremely responsive and quick to communicate. He also was super helpful, when our flight was delayed , and we really appreciate it. The location is very convenient and close to downtown, there’s a beautiful river right behind the property. The place itself is small (just like in the pictures), but it has all the necessary amenities and was very clean. Overall, a very pleasant stay and a great value! Thank you , Grant 🙏🏻 Best regards, Olga

Although the space is small it is comfortable, beautifully maintained and in a very quiet and beautiful setting. It’s an easy walk (<10 minutes) to the free bus stop that services all four mountains, downtown Aspen. If your are contemplating coming for the music festival in the summer its really close to the music tent, and would be especially well located for that. Grant is the most responsive AirBnB host I’ve ever interacted with! A real pleasure to deal with.

Grant's place is conveniently located near Aspen proper and also to a bus stop to take you to any of the ski mountains. The place is tiny but well equipped for a few days. I will note - to walk into town or to the bus stop, part of a route is up a fairly steep backroad. We walked the road a few times (twice with skis) and it's doable, but we took an uber home in the dark.
